Hey everyone…This was the first warm weekend this year that I had free so I took advantage and did a full exterior detail on the M3. I used Meguiars 105 and 205 on my DA polisher to correct all of the dealer installed scratches. After decontamination, I coated it with two coats of Cquartz UK 3.0 and one coat of Gliss.

Overall I am super happy. I do need to work on my skills on the black trim. It is incredibly hard to correct and keep looking good.

Let me know what you think!

What was your process for the black trim bits? Once I take delivery (next month?) I want to polish it up before getting it all PPF'd.

I used a similar process on the black trim as the paint. I did spend some more time with the compound than on the painted surfaces. But really, it's very very hard to get it just right.

The black trim scratches too easy. I PPFd it, instead of trying to worry about it.

Same here (PPF with Ceramic Pro KAVACA). The rocker panel blades are especially vulnerable to stones on the underside and errant shoes on the outer edges. 5 months in, and the the gloss black finish is still flawless.

Exact same treatment. It's a clear coated surface just like the body panels. In hindsight, I wish I had gone a little bit more aggressive on the roof. This car sat in Baltimore for three months with a stop sale. There are some water spots on there that are probably as a result. The next time I correct and or coat the car, I will probably use a little bit more of an aggressive polish up there.
