I took out half my grille and put in a flat griddle. Aussies can't bbq without one, onions, eggs, pineapple, bacon, fish etc all way easier on a flat top and yes that's how we do our burgers too.

I've built many backyard kitchens with so called "high end" grills but nothing really beats the 4 brands I listed above. Currently in the process of doing a new kitchen with an Evo Grill, 54" Lynx with single sear zone with a chain rotisserie and a pizza oven.
I put in a Lynx recently. Very happy with it so far.
