Carbon Buckets seat perforation

Hey I posted this in another thread and didn't get much attention, hoping someone can share some insight here.

Is this normal wear and tear or am I looking at a warranty claim? If it's normal any advice on how to repair? I haven't really done anything out of the ordinary and I lift myself by pushing down on the doorsill when getting out.

What kind of pants do you wear usually? One thing that comes to my mind that could cause this is buttons from jeans u sometimes have on the back pockets for example…
Or if u clean them with a to harsh brush and leather cleaning

Haven't used a leather brush. Leather cleaner and microfiber usually. Yeah I think it could be the metal thing in the jeans near the pockets, I mean am I supposed to wear slacks and sweatpants always? Haha

Do you think it could be a warranty claim? Or should I attempt leather glue? Not sure how to prevent it from getting worse. I don't really want to sit on a towel or something :

It is for sure worth checking with your dealership…maybe they gonna do something about it on warranty.

Took a look at my seat this afternoon and didn't see anything like this after 4,000 miles in them.

I had the same thing happen to me in my 911. Not even a month into ownership and my hybrid shorts rear pocket zipper head caught on my seat and scratched it. I think they were volcom hybrid shorts. Anyhow, I instantly removed the zipper head on every pair of those I had with some wire cutters. Now when I shop for shorts I look for ones with buttons, not zippers. Shorts with rear pocket zippers should be outlawed!

Do you think I should try to ask if warranty covers it? I only have 3,000 miles

I do have some running pants with a rear pocket zipper that could be the culprit otherwise it's just Levi's and I guess the metal clip against the rear pockets could be doing it? Still kind of ridiculous they really want you to wear a suit while driving a bmw I guess lol

Its the rear pocket zipper head. Even with the arm of it laying flat, it will EAT your seats. I have like 6 pairs of hybrid shorts with no zipper head now.

I'm thinking they won't cover it as it does look more like wear and tear than an actual defect, but it never hurts to ask! May just get lucky and they will replace it.

I think you hit the nail on the head, these are the pants I use sometimes and I guess they are the problem. Did you resolve it in your 911? Not sure how to repair but atleast I won't make it worse now.

It was the cause of my scratch. Sadly I lived with mine for 18 months until I sold the 911 for another one. It was hell looking at it every time I got into the car.

There are leather repair people out there. They will shave/sand the lifted edges down and die the discolored part the same color the top of the leather is and you'd never know.

If it happens to me again, that's the route I will go.
