Cell phone name entries
Do you have funny names for people or are they all the correct names?

I'm more of a specific ringtone for folks - not so much names.
God forbid if some family members call me while I'm sitting beside them (Dennis Leary - Asshole and Voltbeat - Still counting, both keyed to the main part of the songs). Going back 20 years or so, when phones started doing voice recognition, I had a fellow worker set up a 'Shitface Motherfucker' - was hillarious when the phone read back, "Do you want me to call Shitface Motherfucker?" Was so hard to get the 'yes' out to make the call.

No, I have also related ringtones to identify my 'special' caller. Don't use voice activated action at the cellphone.

No, but my wife does. She had me under the name "Cutiepie".
I've never understood it. I know I'm brutally handsome so the cute part fits but I don't get the pie part. I don't taste like pie (I don't think) and I'm not shaped like pie. Anyhow, I play along. It's easier that way. |

My DW used to work with a utility company roadside tree crew. The crew leader had the supervisor's name entered into his work phone as "DICK SQUEEZER" because their company changed supervisors frequently and he couldn't be bothered to remember their names.
She frequently held his work phone on the ground when he was up in the bucket with the chain saw, because their crew was the on-call emergency team in case of a car accident taking down a tree and power lines. One day, she received a call on that phone from the supervisor, and yelled the name up to him thinking that it was a real person's name (who probably was bullied a lot in high school). It seems that everyone in the company but her knew that he did this in his phone.....

A few of my niece's seem to be in competition for who is my favorite. There names randomly change if I happen to leave the phone on the table unlocked.

I do mine like a phone book. I'm an adult male. So no cutsie childish nicknames. But I don't do nicknames anyways.
And I'm bad with names anyways. If I didn't have proper names I'd never be able to address them properly. A holdover respect thing from a generation now lost. |

Just normal names for me, but sometimes I'll put something to identify them with ("Plumber Al", "Roofer Jay") to make it easier the next time I need them since I won't remember their name.
I set specific ringtones for people so if I'm busy I know if I need to rush and answer or let it go to VM

I often have first names and trade in my phone. Things like Tim the plumber, Barry the electrician, Corey the tin banger or Kristian the mason. I had a very appropriate ring for an old boss some years ago. He was a hard partier. He thought it was hilarious.
