Anyone using dura coat tire dressing? They claim it lasts months and the shine withstands multiple wash jobs while still looking like it was freshly applied. Surely this can't be true?

I use ExoForma which has similar claims. i only applied one quick coat a month ago, and I still looks wet in the areas I applied it well with a rag I had laying around. (I didn't have an applicator pad and was still dealing with COVID.)

I would like to know as well. Also, when it is time to re-apply, how hard is it to remove the previous coating, or do you just apply over top the old coat? Does it build up over time??

I use Gyeon Q² Tire which is a SiO2 based tyre dressing.

It's always best to clean the tyre before applying or re applying a dressing. You can use either an all purpose cleaner (APC) or a dedicated tyre cleaner in conjunction with a stiff tyre brush. There's loads of tyre dressing reviews and how to videos on YouTube which are very informative.

Does it last for more than a few days? Even the best shines I've used fade after a few days. New products claim to last months…..dura coat was the one I saw an advert for, very curious about this product. I'll probably order it in the next few days, once applied I'll report back with results.

Edit-I just ordered the Dura coat kit. It comes with an applicator the tire dressing and something else. I'll have it on Tuesday I expect, will post feedback asap.

So I got the Dura coat dressing in hand. Looks like the tires require a special wash before application. So, I'll get this done asap and report my results.

I have used a lot of different types of tire dressing over the years and Chemical Guys VRP is the right combination of shine and doesn't splatter once it is dry. It won't last driving through rain but will last a few weeks in dry weather. If you want something that's super shiny and last through a rain shower you can use Meguiar's Endurance. The downside is it will splatter after the first few drives. The shine is also a bit much and doesn't look natural IMO.

I haven’t used the endurance shine in a long time but do recall it lasting for a couple weeks. VRP and Adam’s tire shine would be a tie in my book, with VRP lasting a little longer.

I bought a gallon of adams vrt like 6 years ago and i still have some left. That is the best value for money and it has a great semi gloss finish to it. It stays on for a while as well. I tried their Graphene vrt and it's no better. Pure marketing there.

Who cares about dressing lasting two years.

If you want to get something proper, look into Meguiar's Hyper Dressing. Water-based and you can dilute it to whatever level of shine you prefer.
