That's what I was thinking too. I remember being at my in-law's house during a heavy rain storm and they have a metal roof. Won't forget that sound! Would be impossible to sleep unless there's some serious insulation!

I am leaning towards doing it. I think house will look alot better, plus like I said, this roof is the only one that's degrading fast. Ill think more about this after vacation

Nah, in this part of the country you learn to sleep through it.

We have a tornado siren about 900' from our front door and have slept through it a few times.

It's not a good thing!

A couple of years ago we had one touch down (a small one) about 2 miles west of us and had no idea until they put they put it on the news an hour later.

We just had a gazebo installed in our backyard today with a metal roof. Good times.

Have the install scheduled for end of September. Got tired of thinking too much. A buddy of mine wasting $10k on one door install lol so $11k for a roof project seemed reasonable waste of money

Roof is done, need new gutters now, and carpenter is coming to fix all the siding that was messed up by roofers (they had to remove alot of shit for flashing). Much more work than I expected. Looks better but not exactly as I pictured it. Will take a few pictures when it's done.

Entire roof would be nice, but that's about $50k and that's not counting removal and installation of solar panels. So that's not happening any time soon
