Anyplace to check out in Halifax, Canada?
Hi all,
I am going to Halifax, Nova Scotia, for a business conference. The hotel is in downtown near Harborfront. Anyplace to check out or any interesting activity in that area? Thanks. |

I had a wild time in Halifax but I don't remember much. We were there on a port call when I was in the Navy. Ended up in a bar that served La Fin du Monde on tap. Ended up out too late past our curfew and were ducking in alleys avoiding the MPs. An acquaintance pulled up in a cab and offered to take us to his hotel. He had a hooker in the car. We all waited outside the room until he was done and crashed on the floor.
Sorry I couldn't help but...memories of foggy memories got triggered. It's a beautiful place. |

Went in May.
Lots of great restaurants and cafes dotted around. Not sure what you're looking for, but there's some museums and forts to check out too. You can walk almost anywhere downtown in a reasonable amount of time so there's that... |

Just got back yesterday. It is a really pretty city with lots of restaurants and pubs in the downtown. We were there taking some furniture to our middle ones new home for him so didn't do any tourist stuff this time. Try Pickford and Black on the lower deck for beer and oysters, great view of the harbour too. https://pickfordblack.com
I was in Halifax in the mid 90's on a course with the Canadian Navy, our team went for dinner at the 5 Fisherman and as I recall it was excellent. https://www.fivefishermen.com/main-menu/ |

I used to have a satellite office in Kentville, about an hr away. Given it is apple season, if you want a half day trip, rent a Mustang drop top (V8) and head up that way, blast through the back roads covered in bright leaves, it'll be fun. Stop in for some pie and cider, lots of orchards that way.
