It allows you to play copies of DS Lite games. As for where to get the games, go to mininova.org and you can download packs of the games. Just search for NDS and the name of the game. Or if you just search NDS, you will find mega packs of the games.

I'm in Thailand now, the R4s are all over the place in the malls. Pricetag is about $50, I might pick up a CycloDS while I'm out here...

The CycloDS is the way to go IMO. Built in Action Replay is better than the R4's built in cheat system (some proprietary crap I think) and the SDHC is important if you want to use it for media. Though CycloDS is $50 versus $35 for R4 over here. Is the R4 cheaper over there too? If they were the same price there would be no reason to get an R4 but they sell because of the reduced cost versus a CycloDS.

What is SDHC? So, CycloDS is another version of the R4, but better?

SDHC is the high capacity version of SD cards. It's actually a different spec and old SD devices (and some new) won't read the newer high capacity cards. I think the demarcation line is at 4gb.

MicroSD is supposed to top out at 4GB though I rarely see 4GB microsd cards. 4GB microsdhc is much easier to find and 2GB microsd is more common. 2GB just doesn't hold enough games for me. Sandisk is releasing a 16GB microsdhc. So if you want to be more future proof, buy the CycloDS. The price difference is trivial IMO.
