Repair scratch in plastic trim that catches fingernail?

I have a new X7, just one month old and I’ve found a scratch on the black plastic under the rear spoiler. Unfortunately it does seem to catch my fingernail. No clue on whether this was there when I got the car (it was in the show room for a bit), or my detailer scratched it or me ☹️.

In any case, briefly asked the dealer what it would take and they said they can’t buff it out and would likely need to replace it for $1200.

Any other options? Even just it make it less apparent. It’s in an inconspicuous place but it drives me nuts seeing it when loading the trunk.

Sooner or later you're going to get a scratch/ding/chip on a new car.
I'd chalk up your spoiler scratch as "the first" and since nobody but you is likely
to notice something on the underside of a spoiler, you're ahead of the game a little bit.

In other words, relax and enjoy your new ride that now displays a discreet "badge of courage". Tough to do, I know, but try not to make yourself crazy over it.

Hehe similarly, I once knew an old farmer who would pre-dent all of his trucks. He had a new truck one day with a dent in the middle of the bed and I said, "man that stinks how did that happen...". He said "I hit it with a sledge so I don't have to feel bad about the first real dent."

Harsh but there will be more.... Buying used also always makes me feel less bad about the first ding I add.

try buffing it out with compound and polish. If it still bugs you after that, try drcolorchip or similar.

Oh that'll buff out. Try this product linked below.

The scratch is only the clear coat as far as I can tell from this photo.
