set off car alarm while driving

Heard this story on the radio today.
Somebody drove BMW X3 and set off the alarm.
He pulled off the car and didn't know what to do.
All lights flashing and the alarm sounded very loud.
Could it be the alarm on FOB key was touch, during driving?
The high tech car suppose to know the car is being driven.

It could be because of the battery being exhausted

This happened to me today. I was driving with everything normal and then the alarm went off. When I got to my destination, I opened my door and the alarm stopped. I closed the door and it started again. I clicked unlock on the key and it stopped. Gonna call the dealer tomorrow

I was blasting thru some round-a-bouts one day when I heard the car beeping. Not the horn, but another beeping sound. I first thought it was another car but nobody was near me. The fob was in my pocket and because of being thrown to the side from cornering the panic button was activated. LOL. Laughed at myself on that one.

I accidentally clicked the red horn / alarm button while I was driving last year and it scared the hell out of me. I’ll never do that again….so damn loud!

I was thinking the same, I had this problem with my X5. The alarm would go off all the time, including when it was running. OP will know soon enough if it continues...
