NYC Tri- State area. Looking for reputable detailer / PPF installer.

As the title says , I’m looking for a reputable detailer / ppf installer for in the NYC Tri- State area. I plan on getting my front bumper resprayed due to rock chip damage, and my maxton front splitter replaced. I have a 17 f06 640i x drive and I plan on getting the respray done at Azevedo Motorsports in Linden, NJ. They are a listed Bimmershop and very reputable. Have done work with them in the past for my 16 F10 and can vouch for their work. Looking to get the car brought back to life with a hood inside / outside detail with ppf and ceramic coating after. Can anyone recommend a good place for the later?

If you can do North NJ, go see Phil at Detailers Domain. They are in Norwood NJ. They do a great job!

I also recommend Detailer’s Domain. They did full PPF and ceramic on my G80 and it came out great! Phil and Dan are awesome.

I’d give them a call and get a quote. I got a bunch of additional stuff done at the same time (carbon parts installed, etc.) so I don’t recall the cost of the PPF.

I highly recommend Thomas at Paint Protection. BMW Manhattan contracts out to them. I found him independently and he’s matched my quote from Extreme Colors near the Performance Center.

Paint Protection is their name:
http://www.paintprotectionfilm.nyc

Here’s my quote:

Extreme Cross Country PPF Package 1
XPEL ULTIMATE PLUSTM Paint Protection Film & Installation on Full Hood (wrapped), Full Fenders, Mirrors, Front
Bumper, Door Edge Guards, & Headlights
$2,299.00

$399.00

FUSION PLUSTM 5 Year Ceramic Coating 1 $1,299.00

BMW Car Club of America Discount (10%)
$3,997.00 - $399.70

I've seen Post #8

Go with Phil@DD. Higher Quality Install IMO.
Forget price. All decent shops are priced relative to the work they put out

I agree with this, but I'm tempted to play devil's advocate and see how much Phil charges. Best of the best, but you'll pay to play.

PPF is like Tint Shops IMO.
The ones all putting out high quality work are priced very similarly
IME, most of this stuff from less than a handful of shops I would use is all the same price - maybe a benji or 2/3 off, but nothing majorly drastic.

PPF Pricing is regional.Like all things
It's what the local market will support

I would never find an installer of choice locally and ask for a price match 4 states away <flame suit on>

DD price is inline to the less than a handful of decent shops putting out same level of work...I know of 1 shops that has quoted a smidge about 700-900 more if I recall. This shop does put out high quality work. I only replied as I've seen post #8 work. I don't recommend but everyone has a different exception or eye for these things.

There is a poster here showing his Wrap. I know that shop....I literally have seen a tech grinding/cutting away metal on a G Wagon with multiple cars directly in the same room/garage/workspace. Imagine Hot Metal Fragments embedded into your brand new car you had delivered to either get PPF or wrap....I left after observing the smell of grinding, watching sparks fly and was in complete AWE of all the other cars in the shop with the owners not knowing what environment their cars were in.....If you're a film shop, whether it be vinyl or PPF, there is no business of bodywork being done....and this shop charges in the same range of DD.

Remember, that when going custom PPF, these guys are using knives a hairs breath away or directly scoring film laid already onto the paint...
So if one is considering custom vs precut, this is one factor to be mindful of when choosing a installer

Almost all of the quotes I was getting were higher than what I got from Extreme, which didn’t really surprise me. The ones that were lower, their communication and reviews supported that.

Thanks for the geography lesson though.

To confirm, you’re saying you’ve seen the shop I’m talking about do everything you described above?

The shop doing using a grinder to cut off metal in a G Wagon in the same space with other customers car - No, it's not Post #8. Tom at PPF NY does OK work. It's just not the same level of perfection of other shops.
