Do it before global warming takes place and the bahamas will be under water. Seriously though, if your other alternative is to be living the monotany of the corporate life, I say leave it all behind and start enjoying life.

only thing i'm really bumming on is that there's no real way to get a BMW over there.. far too expensive for what it is.

Been there, done that. Not the Bahamas, but the move thing.

When I was 23 and living in KY, a buddy called me and said that a friend of his owned a restaurant in Chicago and had just fired his manager for stealing. Was I interested in running the place? This was around 10 p.m. on a Thursday. Friday morning, I told my family I was moving to Chicago on Sunday. I'd never left home for longer than a track meet, so they laughed. I packed on Saturday. They laughed harder. Sunday afternoon, they came home from church and I was gone. I laughed last.

I crashed with my friend and his two roommates in a fantastic luxury condo, only to discover my friend was collecting from everyone for the utilities and not paying them - everything was shut off, and he'd moved out while we were at work.

The buddy he'd gotten me to work for? Total psycho control freak. The last manager had been stealing all right - seems a book-keeping error meant he wasn't getting his paychecks for over a month! Psycho also owned the condo I was living in, and we discovered he felt that meant he could come and go as he pleased, criticize us on our belongings, lifestyles, etc. Told one roomy his girlfriend was a dumb bitch and he didn't want her in HIS condo, when I asked for a raise I was told I'd spent too much furnishing my room, which he'd stopped by to check out while I was at work. And by the way, as a favor to me, he would take my share of the rent out of my paycheck...

We didn't get along.

So within 3 months, I was living in a ratty little studio in the city by myself, my Honda'd been stolen, and I was jobless.

It was way cooler than it sounds.

Wow, glad to see I'm not the only one who feels this way ! I was, seriously, going to post a thread like this today and see if anyone has just "packed-up and left."

Matt, good luck with everything. Looks like you have everything in order.

I would go for it. I think about packing my stuff up and moving some where
different about 3 times a week. I just sick and tired of everyone.

Ok, so I'm starting to get things in order and have an open water dive tomorrow just to get the blood flowing again.

Some research I've down shows taxes up to 65% on vehicles, the BMW may have to be ditched at that point and i'll pick up an 04 Jeep or something..

hell.

Pick up a clunker when you get there. Or just walk/hitch everywhere.
