So I'm thinking it's time to bite the bullet...

I'm in the market for a 2008 335i coupe and looking through ads and listings I'm noticing that a lot of dealers are still being inflexible with the prices - especially on 2008 models. Is there any hope? Has anyone had any luck with negotiating? what kind of deals have people been getting?

Thanks,

Not sure about your area, but here in DC they are more than willing to discount to invoice and you can even take advantage of the 0.9% financing.

Keep sending emails and calling, one dealer in Chi-Town has to be hurting for business.

Be patient, and ya you DEFN should be able to get close to invoice or invoice + no more than a 1 K on 08 model.

Not being an asshole but I am just trying to help you as I am in sales. What do you mean infelxible? Does that mean they wont accept your low offer? If thats the case the delarship is not inflexible it means they know they can make more money on the car from someone else. Its the same thing as selling you car on your own. If you get a low offer you say no because you know there is someone who is willing to pay more. Do you really blame them for this? It is common business practice by everyone in the world whoever has sold something. Just read the for sale section here and you will see how mad people get if they feel they get a low ball price. You may have Low balled the dealership. The delaership doe not HAVE to sell you the car if they dont like your prie in the same way people here in the for sale section dont have to take an offer on a part. Maybe the dealership feels the same way. Does that make sense?

To answer the other part of the question. I dont have a lot of them in stock and there are not many around here so I get an average of 1100-1400 over invoice on them after giving the customer the money for the option credit.

Like I said I am not trying to sound like an asshole as I dont know if that is the case but it could be. After reading your post makes it sound like that is the case. Let me know if you need any help int he buying process and I will give you hand.

Ryan

Right now with the incentives going on it is actually really easy to get invoice. At least 3 of my local dealers were willing to give me invoice or lower on a 335i coupe.

Waiting to hear back from some dealers today - hopefully I'll have some pics to post this weekend!
