So I’ve now experienced the RS6 performance post- break in. My thoughts are as follows:
-one of the best cars I’ve ever driven, without a doubt. -the most comfortable “super car” I’ve ever driven with this much power and handling and especially given the cartoonish 22 in rims. Seats are lovely. -handling is excellent. Car is on rails. Steering wheel is thin and provides some feedback although like all modern cars minimal. RAS = agility. -sounds incredible. Blows my modern M cars out of the water. -a fraction second of initial lag but then a ballistic missile. Rocket ship. I don’t know what to say except I can’t fathom the M5 touring would be better in these terms except for that last bullet point. Looking forward to driving one when I get the chance. I am one that is currently thinking a lot about switching from my F90 M5 Competition to a RS6 Avant Performance. The car is fast, great looking, great finish (better than the G60 and G90), its full of options and technology, and its very nice to drive (supple in a way the F90 and W213 aren't) - and it handles beautifully, great steering feel. Its not as athletic or dynamic as the F90 or W213, but its really good.
The G90 is not a bad car, but I am not sure its for me. It would be my first Audi RS, although the RS3 and RS5 appeal to me, and the RS5 especially has one of the best chassis outside of a Porsche. |
