2025 m5 deposit amount

Hi guys
First time ordering an new m5.
I'm curious what the dealers wants for deposit on the m5?
Park Shore bmw in north Vancouver here wants 15k.
He said all German brands nowadays requires 10% of full price as deposit.
I already paid them 1k deposit 2 yrs ago.
Now they want 15k to secure an allocation.

Thanks

I’m sure this varies by area, but I have always done $5k deposits (at least in the Southeast).

I just did a $5k deposit on my M5 Touring

I’m not sure how things differ in Canada, but it’s been over 20 years since I’ve put a deposit down on an M car.

It’s all going to come down to the relationship you have with the dealer.

Deposits can vary massively depending on location, market-size, and demand. When I ordered my F90 M5 Comp, the deposit was only $1000 refundable and the dealer had an allocation when I ordered.

When I ordered my Audi R8, the deposit was $5000 refundable. That's for a car with MSRP $230k. They did not have an allocation at the time of my order. It took 2 years from the date of order to delivery.
That was with an Orlando dealer that I had a long history of buying cars from.

When I asked my local Audi dealer to place an R8 order, they wanted $10,000 non-refundable deposit. I said to hell with that.
