M8 isn't a hot seller...nor is it's base car.. 5 series sees quite a bit more sales globally.

CY26 for MY27 is what I'm thinking...

Yeah, that's good point... I do believe the incoming LCI of the seven series may include some of the Neue Klasse dashboard/HUD stuff.

I'm still skeptical, though. Isn't the usual cadence that they release the new model/platform and then, about a year later, release the M variant? I think the thing to do if anticipating getting the next version of the M is to find out when they're doing the next version of the base five series and then add a calendar year to that.

The M's always follow a year or so after the base car. With that they tend to get a LCI quickly and sometimes a 2.0 LCI based upon general production and technology updates.

The biggest thing is if folks will like the new dash or prefer the old one.

Hopefully the LCI 7 and the new EVs will give us a taste of what's to come.

What new dash are you guys referring to?

I thought I would want the silver trim on this car but looking at it in the pic posted it looks unbelievably cheap. Is that the case in person? Looks like carbon is a must.

On top of that, I'm pretty sure this silver portion on the steering wheel is just painted plastic to make it look like metal too. Also, it's kind of annoying that the paddles aren't metal or carbon fiber.

You would not want metal on that part of the steering wheel.. in an impact I'm certain the part is designed to break and give.

Agreed. Changing a dash is a massive alteration that would probably require completely new crash testing for the USA. I doubt they would do this mid product cycle, with the only exception being maybe for an LCI.

The G60 5 series/G61 Touring/G90 & G99 M5 all switch to Panoramic Vision starting with 3/27 production, the passenger screen option also debuts, which is probably when LCI production begins

It’s amazing how many people seem to not follow this thread, which as you correctly pointed out, has documented this switch over to the Panoramic Vision for some time now.

Interesting but 2027 is a long time from now. Might as well wait for the LCI at that point because that won't be too far out from that date too.

2026.

As the article and other info states, models with Panoramic Vision will come in 2025 production models. And may arrive in such models as the 7 Series facelift first.

https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/globa...25?language=en

What you can expect is a bit new styling for the dash. New screen as Neue Klasse with panoramic vision.

Does anyone know if it's possible to order without that ugly 12-clock red stripe on the steering wheel?

I don't think so but nothing some black leather dye can't fix if it bothers you that much.

Yeah, I might be overthinking it, but the red stripe on the steering wheel just doesn’t feel right in a sedan like the M5. It’s not really its style (kinda reminds me of that The Office episode). It would fit much better on something like the M3 or the CS. And slapping red stripe on almost every other or more “basic” cars just makes it feel less special.

Of course as you said, you could just repaint it or redo the leather. Maybe in the future, they’ll give an option to order it without the stripe, which would suit the M5’s mix of luxury and performance way better imo.

There are many things on this car bothering me beside the grille and rear diffuser. One of them is this stripe that is not even aligned correctly but more than this the lack of gear lever which is a must for M car…
I always complained about that lever on steering wheel of Mercedes but looks like now BMW is screwing up in new way.
