Dash Trim (lights up?)

Does anyone have any information on how the blue/red dash trim works? It looks like it lights up and plays some kind of animation, but also has some capacitive buttons on it?

Brand new to BMWs, but working on getting a G99 ordered.

M-specific welcome animation and it stays I believe in M modes. You can also have it in any color you want just as in regular 5 series. And it has haptic buttons.
