Is this one of the coolest stories that not many have heard about?

Someone recommended the book "Endurance" to me and I read it earlier this year. It is the story of Ernest Shackleton and his failed expedition to transverse Antarctica in 1914. Him and 27 other guys got their ship stuck in ice, the ship sunk, and they had to make their way to get rescued. It is an incredible story of survival.

There were 2 expeditions that set out in 2019, and 2022 with the intention of locating the sunken ship under the Weddell Sea ice pack.

Anyways, there is a new documentary that dropped over the weekend on the story of the Endurance by Nat Geo. I watched it on Disney+. They do a great job of telling the story of the failed mission, and showing the journey to locate the sunken ship. Curious if any others are fans of this story and have read the book or have seen the new documentary.

PS- there is an Endurance lego set coming out later this month!

They also recreated the whisky he had with him, from some of the original that they found in the ice. I don't think it is as good as my favorite single malts, but a nice blend, and cool story.

That is pretty cool. I should be adding this to xmas list along with the lego set.

I read the book a few years ago on the advice of a friend of mine who is a sailor. What an amazing story. I'm absolutely going to watch this documentary.
