I think they revved one here at one of the launches, it did not sound very good at all and my brothers Xm sound pretty dang good with a decent v8 sound

To be honest for a european specced car and from the reviews it sounds good and loud enough with bangs and pops
I assume a US specced car will sound much better and louder |

But you can hear its unique rumble when it’s a Half a mile away at normal acceleration. It’s not about comparison, and yes s63 still better but XM is the first recent M that actually sounds deep and relatively loud. Question still remains, is the m5 going to be the same here in the us? The only reasonable answer given so far was that no one has heard an American spec m5 yet so we don’t know…

It's same powertain with different software modifications ...but different exhaust and lengths. With that you need to wait to compare and US spec XM vs M5. However, due to plumbing they won't ever sound the same. Never mind a OPF Euro vs non OPF and or country specific exhaust sound laws.

After market normally will improve upon it plus some coding of the flaps, and maybe some change to air fuel ratios/ unburnt fuel dumps. |

S68 is not a bad sounding engine, but imo is missing that imperfect, more deeper rumble.
Btw, Akrapovic exaust sounds even in my phone (as someone mentioned) pretty good. |

If one were to swap the stock G90 exhaust for Akrapovic, does it void warranty?
Asking for a friend!

Typically, at least in the US, people have been fine with modifying the exhaust downstream of the last emission device. That would be the catalytic converters in the US, and the OPF/GPF for Euro cars. |
