After the great race overall and fantastic drive from Max in Brazil (which apparently wasn't that special due to new engine and half of the overtakes being given to hime by safety car situations), I'm very excited to see how things will play out in Vegas.

I don't think Max will be the WDC there, but I also think Lando won't take maximum points. For me:

1. Lec
2. Sai
3. Nor
4. Pia
5. Ver
6. Rus
7. Per
8. Ham

F'ing Customs IDIOTS!!!!

Tsunoda almost denied US entry for Las Vegas GP:

— Yuki Tsunoda revealed he was nearly denied entry into the United States ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix after being held by border control for several hours.
— Speaking to media, Tsunoda recounted:
“Luckily, they let me in after a couple of discussions. Well, a lot of discussions, actually. But yeah, I nearly got sent back home. Everything is all good, so I’m here now.”
— Despite holding a valid visa and having already raced in the US twice this year (Miami and Austin), Tsunoda described the experience as “strange.”
“It felt a bit strange that I got stopped and had a proper discussion. Luckily, it didn’t go on more than two or three hours. It’s not the first time we’ve come here this year.”
— Tsunoda was travelling without his team, accompanied only by his physio, which made it challenging to clarify his situation. He explained:
“I wanted to call the team or Formula 1, maybe that person could help me, but in that room, you can’t do anything.”
“Can I bring the person I’ve travelled with? Maybe he can help explain more about myself and the situation that I’m a Formula 1 driver. But they didn’t allow that.”
— Tsunoda speculated that his casual attire may have played a role in the confusion:
“Maybe I didn’t look like an F1 driver. I was wearing pyjamas. He [the customs officer] even asked me about my salary and everything.”
— Despite the tense experience, Tsunoda concluded:
“It was an uncomfortable thing; I felt like there was a lot of pressure, and I couldn’t say anything without feeling I’d get into more trouble. Hopefully, all things are solved now.”

Norris admits he "wasn't at the level" to fight Verstappen for title at start of 2024

https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/n...2024/10674801/

I mean, no one is at the level to fight Max at the moment, to be fair.

There's all the friendly Americans and then there's the custom guys, trick is to not turn up in your jimjams and smile at them being helpful all the way and they'll let you in as easy as Jason Bourne

It's just funny because the current assholes in office have the border wide open to the south.

If Yuki came in through Mexico, he wouldn't have an issue.

it really depends on who set the prev lap record in what car.

was it Yuki in a F1 car or Damon Hill in a Suzuki for example

A new cheating scandal has emerged with FIA issuing a new technical directive concerning a 'protective barrier' suspected of being used for the underside planks by quite a few teams.

Liberty Media/Formula One Group would certainly like that as the Las Vegas GP is their pinnacle in promotion of their product. Maybe that's also the reason Mr. Herbert won't be joining the Stewards team anymore.
However, the track has long fast straights, and it's unlikely to rain. Will this favour Max and the RB20, or will the McLaren car be dominant again with Ferrari as a strong runner up?
This is my prediction:
1. NOR
2. LEC

4. VER
5. SAI
6. HAM
7. PER
8. RUS
9. HULK
10. LAW
Lando all the way!!

Why not put Colapinto in the mix? that dude is doing wonders with that Williams car, very impressive.

Max might be out if and when the new F1 cars suck. If they do suck I'll probably be out also. I REALLY don't care to watch a battery race around a track!!!!

Max Verstappen has hinted that his next motor racing adventure after Formula 1 could be closer than many think.
For a Honda promotional event, Yuki Tsunoda took the wheel of an Indycar at Las Vegas Speedway, while triple world champion Verstappen tried a Daytona-ready Acura ARX-06 prototype.
Verstappen openly admitted to wanting to do Daytona.
"It's not about teasing or whatever," said the Dutchman. "I know I want to do it in the future. It's just finding the time."
The 27-year-old said it is really only the current F1 calendar that is holding him back.
"With such a busy F1 schedule it's almost impossible because we finish so late in the season," said Verstappen. "To properly prepare before you head to Daytona, it's pretty impossible.
"But who knows? Maybe in a few years time."
Verstappen also said he's keen to do the fabled Le Mans 24 hour race, while he is "still youngish".
"At the moment, I have a contract," he said, referring to his Red Bull deal through 2028, which contains exit clauses. "I'll be 31 at the end of it, which of course is still very young (to retire), but I started when I was 17.
"That's a long time in Formula 1."
Verstappen hinted that he might not even get to 2028, given the fact that all-new cars - with a greater electrical power component - will debut in 2026.
"Yeah, for me it also depends on how the new cars will be to drive from '26 onwards," he said. "Are they enjoyable to drive? The amount of races, how much you're away from home, it's demanding. And of course, I've won already a lot in Formula 1.
"I also want to do other stuff and at one point I also want to do fewer races. With an endurance championship, you have more free time and can plan your schedule a bit more."
