Agreed. I've been perusing Alpina B8's for sale. They haven't dropped anywhere as much as the B7, and to be honest, I'd be worried about the maintenance. But goodness it's tempting.

Last week, I flew out to Detroit last Friday and bought a 2018 M2 DCT in Mineral Gray with 42K miles and drove it 800 miles home. The car is in amazing shape. Bone stock. The car was spec'd with the Executive package, black grills, and black side emblems. The car was serviced by BMW it's whole life. The BMW dealer I got it from installed brand new Pilot 4S tires which sadly I'll have to remove and replace with Pilot All Season 4s as the M2 will be driven all year. The DCT is really something else. The deeper and extra gearing and it's ability to hide turbo lag is impressive. And yeah, of course, it rips on up and down shifts.

Future mods for the M2 is the M Performance wing and pedal covers off my M235, M style side view mirror covers, light window tint (45-50%), wrap the reflectors in smoked translucent vinyl, JL Audio C2-400X rear speakers from the M235, and perhaps the HJS DP from the M235. I have no desire to tune the car. It's quick enough for me.

You know... This platform and engine is far superior to previous V8s they used. Plus, I've read that the Alpina does things differently and more reliable as well. Good luck with your quest...

Manual Aston Martin has always been on my list of cars to own. I think they are so damn beautiful and sound absolutely amazing.

Someday hopefully.

McDonald’s Mt Colah is the usual meeting spot. Last weekend’s destination was Norah Head (central coast).

IMHO if in the US the 2nd best one of this era to get behind the final GTS (only 100 of those made). GT is the US version of the N430. Everything so well sorted in these later cars. They are such an incredibly engaging analogue driver’s car. Hydraulic steering, beautiful balance, plenty fast enough, mega sound and reliable.

I thought I recognised it. That's a nice run, god I miss the roads back home. I don't miss the speed cameras everywhere though.

Got the 33.5” BFG KO3 tires fitted today. They drive great and look even better. Really make the truck.

They’ve ruined the old Pacific Highway now. Used to be 100km/h speed limit which was plenty fast enough as it is so twisty. Now 70km/h with heavy policing. They even set up multiple breath testing stations last weekend. They just love to annoy people. They must have been getting erections by pulling in 5 Astons to ruin the fun.

However. There are still loads of 100km/h twisty roads further up. That’s plenty fast enough and perfect fun.

Low profile AT tires? Wheels look way too big.

The sidewall height is just short of 7”. Many prefer a 18” rim for off-roading, but I think the 20” rim size fits the overall dimensions of the Tundra better.
