I could not disagree more.

My 19 M5C looked beautiful, elegant with soft curves, clearly defined fenders giving it a muscular aggressive look without a million overstyled creases and folds on the front and rear clips which make the G90 look like a giant potato landed on a Civic Type R. Plus the sport exhaust sounded epic and the analog gauges were so much more beautiful and intuitive that whatever complicated mess this UI has going on. The wagon does look slightly better and that’s the only reason I’m considering this thing, but the more I see the new one the more I appreciate my old one.

I think, in a couple of months no one will be talking about the f90.

This happened to basically every new m car in the last years

V8 into m3 socks.
F80 is a downgrade.
M5 is m a m car because of awd.
G89 is horrible no one wants..
G90 is heavy and bla bla bla..

We clearly detect in these words the slight frustration of the owner of an F90 that has become boring and outdated. He needs to denigrate the new model to console himself. We sympathize with you but that is not the subject of the discussion here.

No disrespect and just my opinion, but I think the F90 M5 looks like shit compared to the G90. The F90 interior and exterior feels outdated and forgettable. The exterior of the G90 just makes me wow and feel excited, and the interior is just beautiful for me. Everytime I see an F90 on the road, I dont even look at it twice. It might be because I'm a younger person(< 30), and I just dont like old cars when new cars have better technology and look better(IMO). The only thing I like the F90 more than the G90 is the full merino leather package, that is beautiful.

It's not just the F90, I also hate the 991 and would never keep it even if given to me for free, but I love the 992 and would pay extra if needed for one.

Lol I sold my F90 in 2020. What you hear is simply the perspective from someone who's brand agnostic and who has no skin in the game. My feelings on the G90 stand alone, or at the very least relative to what other cars are available in the market today, not a car I owned five years ago. No one is more disappointed than I at what BMW gave us, I wanted to want it, I take no pleasure by being turned off by it. So keep your sympathies, they might come in useful when this car is wholesaling for $85k in a year.

All this opinion talk is moot anyway, the only thing that will show appreciation for this car is its demand, so no matter what you and I think or anyone else would like to believe, there's unsold cars at msrp day one still sitting there a week later. That's a fact, not an opinion, and it is the topic of the thread. You're welcome to back your opinion by purchasing it or another spec more to your liking, and if you do I wish nothing more than for it to give you joy. It still doesn't change the way it has been received nor the current demand for it.

To be fair, I'm not sure how many other car brands are moving $140k cars at full MSRP these days. Audi has been discounting the A8/S8 by $13,000 out of the gate, plus an additional $3000 for Costco members. And then savvy buyers have negotiated down from that point. I'm not sure how well the Merc S class is moving, but I imagine it's not.

And what do you drive? A Cadillac? 😂 It's the worst case of a mix between a grandfather's car and a Civic Type R. And for your information, Cadillacs depreciate significantly more than BMWs.

You claimed to own a Cadillac on this forum not so long ago (want proof?)... But whatever motivates you, it's ridiculous to see you coming to the forum dédicaces to the G90/99 only to denigrate this model. You really have nothing to do with your time… I think it's you who should stop talking or go elsewhere express your jealousy. Everyone is sick of irrelevant and useless comments like yours.

I have owned a lot of cars, none of them either past or current have anything to do with this discussion. My participation in this forum is none of your business, however it is based on my interest in this model. So much so that I went to see in person last week check in hand to decide for myself if I liked it. Once I decided to pass for my own reasons that I have shared, I then decided to share the information of its availability at msrp with this community. Several members have reached out to me to inquire for themselves. That is a positive contribution to the forum as opposed to just you being all in your feelings cause I happen to not be a fan of the car ... but feel free to keep obsessing over what I drive.

I'm out on this convo. If anyone is interested in the car I posted fell free to reach out to Hendrick BMW in Charleston. They're obviously motivated to sell it.

I have no problem with your last post. But you will agree that there is huge difference between « G90 look like a giant potato landed on a Civic Type R » and « my interest in this model. So much so that I went to see in person last week». In short, when your comments are more nuanced they are more relevant and appreciated.

I like when people talk shit about cadillac like it is a bad car lol
we all know that a ct5 V blackwing handles better then an M5 (f90 and most likely g90 ) and there is a lot of reviews on the track that proves that
I am buying the G90 M5 and i am a bmw fan and xurrently drive an M8 and did not get offended by soulsea comments
The guy trying to help other people on the forum and he just mentionned his view of the car that he passed on
Leave the guy alone lol

However, seeing it in person has changed my mind at least on the look of the car. The seats are unbelievably comfortable too. Unfortunately, I could not take it for a test drive. But thought you all would enjoy some pics. It's fully loaded, nice spec. Enjoy.
Thanks for taking the time to post.

My initial thought before seeing the M5 today was to get the M8 since it most likely will be the last true V8 ICE I own. Hold on to it for a few years and see where the M5 is at then. Hopefully there is an LCI and/or red line version that makes it "better" or cleans up in certain areas where it is currently lacking. Will need to give it some thought now. I am still leaning towards the M8 but going to have my dealer price out an M5 and see where it is at vs the M8 payment wise (none of this $$ over MSRP BS) That could play a factor in the decision as well.
Again, I appreciate the insight.
I would advise that you ‘do not fear the PHEV’. I was very anti-PHEV for years. Then taxation forced me into one in my market and I realised I was wrong.
The drivetrain has a whole new level of power availability and the ability to make the car silent on-demand has many benefits too.
My G30 545e had the B58 engine + electric. Stated 388hp but felt every but as quick as the F10 M5 I traded for it.
The 545e also used a lot less fuel in the daily drive. Like, zero comparison to the ICE-only M5.

I don't necessarily "fear" the PHEV, I know I'll eventually make the switch, just want to enjoy one last M8. I did put my M8 GC order in yesterday. Now the painful wait to receive the car begins
Eventhough I ordered the M8, I can't wait to test drive a G90 to experience what you are saying. Just held off on pulling the trigger on a G90 since I am not a huge fan of buying first gen of cars. Also, the quotes I received were wild for the G90. They were same or higher monthly payments than the M8 (M8 is $160k build with everything I want).
If tariffs become an issue and there is a crazy mark up to get my M8 stateside then I may look at getting an M5 off a lot.
Either way, excited for the folks on here getting their G90's and looking forward to hearing their reviews, see some lap times, etc. I'm sure the G90 will be an awesome car.

“It’s growing on me” is going to be the phrase of the next three years as everyone who didn’t want the G90 to result in depreciation of their cars decides the G90 is too great to ignore. Someone should keep a tally of all the “it’s growing on me” comments we see.

It goes without saying, but I LOVE the G90. I wouldn’t trade my G80 for one, but that’s because the two cars serve a different purpose—G80 with buckets is more of a weekend car for me whereas the G90 is more of an incredible daily.

I'll say it right now.

I was shopping in P-car land and totally set there. I had seen pics of the G90 and initially I was "ehhhh", but my SA texts me "just come take a look" and out of loyalty to him I did.

I was surprised at how much more I loved the car in person. Pretty much ticked all the boxes. Just so damned mean looking in person, and I have to say I like all the tech inside.

I think the G90 is a good representation of the M5 and will sell. I think to the typical buyers this car will offer everything they expect from a M5.

I will not be trading in my F90 and am not concerned about the effects a successful or unsuccessful G90 will have on its value. I plan to drive the F90 for the long haul simply because it far exceeds my automotive desires. It is just as great a car today as it was when I took delivery almost 4 years ago. I may be in the minority, but I am not concerned about resale, depreciation, having the latest model, etc.

Same around Charlotte. Dealer units sitting. No incentives, no EV credit, high payments on lease or purchase, plus you need to install a L2 charger. Not gaining much traction so far.

I dunno, man; I'm in Charlotte, and the dealership here at the beginning of October said the touring waitlist was 14 deep. Same with the one up in Durham. Greensboro and Asheville were much shorter. None of those dealerships have an M5 sitting.

They list as being on the lot on the website, but per the advisors, that's just how they show when they're being prepped for delivery.

Also, per advisors, they don't have any they can offer for a test drive and don't anticipate that being the case for a while.

I test drove the first one in town last week (posted a quick review in the F90 forum). Not sure who you are talking to but they haven't sold. I'm only aware of them selling the blue demo unit I drove. Touring I'm not sure of. Also, there were numerous other M cars that were ordered cars that buyers backed out of after they showed up to the dealer. Just saying..

I'm not here to bash on the car I just feel like it's a tough sell to people right now and not much of an upgrade over a LCI F90 (other than cosmetics being newer)
