I have driven an f90 LCI comp with CCB’s for 4 years and have had the G90 now for 2 weeks. I haven’t done break in service yet but will give my .02.

1. Engine: I am convinced the s68 is not a detuned version of the f90. In engine only mode this engine does a great job of moving 5000 lbs off the line.
From 50 MPH to top speed in AMY gear this car is a missile. The instant quiet torque from the electric motors get you past 100mph before you realize it. This is something to be experienced. I loved the f90 but doesn’t compare to the G90.

2. Hybrid experience-Since electric motor is in the transmission the shifts trick you into forgetting the transitions from engine to electric. It is almost seamless in function. Great job

3. Sound. BMW did an amazing job in making synthesized in cabin noises seem real. If I didn’t know they were pumped in I wouldn’t know. Fantastic job. F90 was too isolated. Outside there are some pops and bangs but f90 sounded better on outside. Equal

4. I love the bulldog bulging fender look of the M5. I personally hated blending in with other 5 ers with the f90. This one gets attention from more than those who just know. G90 win

5. Interior: Less luxurious, sound system isn’t as good as the B+W in the f90, too many plastic pieces, less leather surfaces and I miss the soft close doors. There is a lot more theater in the g90 but I miss my physical buttons like my radio presets. I hate clinking into I drive or steering wheel button to get my station. Seats in g90 are just as good but again some adjustments like side [...]
Great review and just what I was looking for! Thanks! I previously had an F90 which I loved and now a G80 (M3) and am probably crazy for switching to G90 but we need a little more room with family of 5 and I’m excited to switch to G90.

My G90 is on the boat over now so I’ll be selling my G80 in the next few weeks. It has been awesome and is a unique build. Signal Green that Xpel stealth wrapped with lots of carbon parts and Valvetronic exhaust! Will miss that one and wish I could keep both!

Did you lease the XM? How much negative equity did you carry over? After seeing the M5 in person I might not wait out my full XM lease (I’m about 18 months in) but waiting for the full leather option.

That’s a great lease deal! I can’t get anyone to budge below $2250-2290 on zero down and 10k miles. $2022 must be with a significant msrp discount or a very low money factor. And I’m assuming it’s a $130-131k msrp car with all options except ccb.

$2,022 would be the payment on a 131,000 msrp car with the money factor at the buy rate of 0.00225 and the 10k residual of 57%, It would not be a Zero drive off deal, you would have to pay the 1st pmt, lic, and acq fee to BMWFS, a zero drive off deal would be higher. I can’t even imagine the amount of negative equity you had from the XM with their values so low. Dealers are discounting them 12% off msrp plus the 17,500 rebate they have. There are used 2023 XM’s being offered under 100k, a 63000 hit in one year, crazy !!

I carried over warranty products that knocked the $2500 down to zero and covered the first payment. Got $135k for the Label on trade. But also got the Label for $20k off on my lease.

Great review.
My last M5 was a 2016 F10. Bought it used in 2021 and went into a 545e in late ‘22.
Dailying a Honda Odyssey currently with a CVT gearbox and an engine off an old sewing machine! Lol
My G90 is now showing as: ‘190-195 In Transit’. Delivery is Jan 3. Can’t wait!

The chat here about residuals is a little sobering but echoing some other commentary, I’m just going to enjoy the car.
We’ll all be staring at the lid long enough! 🤣🤣🤣🙈

I went to see the G90 in person for the first time today. BMW of Dallas has a black one on the showroom floor. It is still for sale. I am a bit surprised the dealership is asking $25,000 for “market adjustment”.

Car looks good to me. I would buy one.

I don't think many dealers are going to be actually selling these with ADM on them. They might try, but I don't think the demand is there.

I just accepted a wagon allocation. Was offered one by two dealers, neither wanted ADM, although one of them is a no ADM dealer by policy. I know this varies by region but if the Touring which appears to be in higher demand is already widely available at MSRP then the sedan will shortly be discounted.

If you love and want either version of the new M5 I think a little patience will help your wallet a long way. My guess is that dealers are going to start heavily discounting the sedans soon. Even the wagons might get to discounts sooner than one might think. I know I feel somewhat uncomfortable paying full msrp for an M5 even in wagon form, but it is what it is.

This is also one of those things that any car that’s sitting in the showroom the week between Xmas and the 31st can probably be had at a significant discount cause there’s no one more motivated to move a car than a GSM trying to max his numbers for the year.

I offered MSRP but they stuck with the $25k ADM. Got one at MSRP from KC instead.

What is your definition of heavy discount? At the end of the day if you want the car and spending 130k does 5k really matter that much? If I'm gonna get 25k off MSRP then maybe.

What type of discount are you expecting by let's say Jan or Feb? Most of us are still waiting for our orders so if your theory holds true we should be able to capitalize on these discounts when they arrive stateside.

Yea I really don’t understand why it seems like they aren’t. Last week I test drove the ‘25 E53, and the ‘25 Range Rover PHEV - both are really limited cars - both offer the 7500 lease rebate. Seems BMW is offering it on all their other cars - why not pass this on, too?

It seems ridiculous that the govt is giving a rebate and BMW wouldn’t pass that along - has that ever happened on another EV/PHEV where the mfg keeps that $$? Also - this wouldn’t really affect the dealers much anyway, right? The dealer doesn’t get it, the 7500 would go to BMW Finance, right?

I know Lexus was only offering it in some markets when I got my wife’s PHEV.

You are correct, the dealer does not benefit at all from the $7,500 credit unless they put the vehicle in the loaner/demo fleet.

Bmw been using part or all the 7500$ as taxed incentives on most of the cars except them5 because it is a new car and alao it is one of the few csrs that does not have loyalty incentives
Will see tomorrow if the december programs change on our favor🙏

Yep two more in my locality sitting, I have decided I will need $10k off msrp and .00225 MF or lower to move forward. The salesperson from both of those dealerships have been actively following up, seems like they are not moving.
