Can someone let me know how the garage door opener works on the new M5. My RS6 doesn’t have buttons on the physical mirror itself. This is irritating because you have to look down at the center screen to use the garage door opener, but is nice because you can have more than 3 openers programmed.

Does the M5 have physical buttons on the mirror?

I have that same garage opener on my Audi S8, and absolutely love it.
The car uses my GPS location to automatically make the garage open button appear on the MMI screen when I approach the driveway. I'm sure your's does the same.

Yep, I still just like the physical button better though.

Here is my problem, I have a gate in the middle of my driveway. I would like to hit the button long before I get to it so I don’t have to sit there and wait for it to open. The GPS waits for me to get too close before I get the pop up to use it in the car, so I end up navigating to it using the lower screen almost every time.

I also programmed the garage opener button into the Favorites row at the top of the bottom video screen. So I can push the button there when I don't have the popup message available.

Love this little feature

Also love the integrated toll module

Also love the variety of materials and textures on the dash and door panels

Also love instrument cluster as it's not set up to look like a video game

Don't use soft close too much

Don't love the haptic touch screens but also don't hate them

Still planning on selling it and take delivery of M5 Touring whenever it arrives in 2025.

Yes - I have 3 buttons on my G90 mirror.
