Lago di Como - Lake Como (Northern Italy - at a whisper of the Swiss Alps).

It features Bellagio on its borders, the real town that inspired minds for a famous real estate project in Las Vegas:

"On October 17, 1994, Mirage Resorts announced plans to build the French-themed Beau Rivage resort on the land, at a cost of $700-$900 million. It would be surrounded by a 50-acre lake with guests entering by footbridges. Mirage Resorts announced a name change in July 1995, stating that the resort would be named Bellagio, after the village of Bellagio, Lombardy in northern Italy. The resort's designer, Jon Jerde, had been vacationing on Lake Como. Impressed by its beauty, he convinced [Steve] Wynn to come see the area. While on the lake with friend Paul Anka, Wynn noticed the nearby village of Bellagio, and spent half a day there. The village's Italian architecture inspired Wynn to scrap 10 months' worth of design work for Beau Rivage in favor of a Bellagio-themed resort. Wynn would later use the Beau Rivage name for another resort in Mississippi."

More westbound, there is also the Swiss Alps town Bellinzona. Maybe, did Donald Fagen toy with that town name in an artistically interpreted way as "Mount Belzoni" for his "The Nightfly" song (1982) (superb album) ? Only he knows. ^ yup, Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore was completed in 1434, and is the most important landmark in Florence, as well as being the fourth largest church in the world.

What an amazing church .

One of my favorite memories of Florence was climbing to the top of the Dome (Duomo). The architect of the dome, Filippo Brunelleschi, was the perfect person to get the job done, blending his expertise in art, science, and math to create such a masterpiece.
