Angry My New G90 M5... Oops

Picked up my new M5 last week, had been sitting in the garage until this weekend. Car has been great, not really driven a lot... only 200 miles so far and still in the break in period so taking it easy.... my son and I were just driving down to the lake this morning, came over a hill and the highway was stopped. Fortunately missed the stopped cars but got into the median a little bit and the back end slid and came into contact with the wall. I had it towed to the dealer... I am sure they will be surprised to find this on Monday morning.

Have been a reader here but not a poster but need some good vibes from the group. Please send some my way... hoping for a good outcome... was just sick to my stomach that this happened!

much better outcome then smashing into stationary cars, I've had to dart into the emergency lane like this too and it's scary af. Should pat yourself on the back too cause the average driver will panic and get target fixation on the back of the car in front and drive right into it.

I was going to say congrats on keeping it superficial damage only and no rear quarterpanel damage besides a little bare metal patch that'll need touchup....but that rear wheel looks a bit sketchy, could just be the angle/distortion in the picture but might have a issue with the rear steer components or something. Still way better then pancaking the barrier or rear ending someone at 30mph+

Ah that’s a balls man. Sorry to learn of that mishap.
Nobody’s hurt, the car will get sorted and it’ll be a memory in no time.

Thanks all, and you are all absolutely right. Could have been much worse and at the end of the day my son and I walked away without a scratch.

The car on the other hand... looks like some suspension components bent but nothing too terrible yet. Still need to see if any of the rear steering components were impacted. My biggest concern was the mechanical side of things since the cosmetic was a little more obvious. Hats off to the dealer getting in so quickly and up on the lift to take a look.
