But yeah wouldn’t you sell more 3 series than 5 series?

Other thing is the m3 wagon wasn’t planned originally and I think there were hurdles for the US. While the m5 wagon being planned from the start for the US
A new RS6 Avant is coming in 2025 so BMW probably wanted to beat them too the punch but I still don't understand the numbers. This quote came directly from Car & Driver, "A BMW spokesman revealed to Car and Driver that less than 1 percent (or fewer than 500 units) of the 3-series models it sold here last year were Sports Wagon or slant-backed Gran Turismo versions." I doubt it's much different for the 5 or Audi models.

I know Audi wanted to do something different with the RS6, but it still doesn't make sense in the US not to offer a sedan. It least BMW also has an M5 Sedan. I know Audi has an RS7, but it's significantly more expensive and the only difference in the 6 vs 7 is an odd shaped C-Pillar that makes it kinda ugly.

Well that should pretty much assure the failure of the Touring platform. One look at XM sales should make BMW question their decision on this but these days common sense is in short supply.
