The critiques from the experts about the G90/99 short comings on this forum have persuaded me to cancel my order. The lack of soft-close doors is unacceptable for my standards. I'm considering purchasing a white Macan instead, to blend in with the majority.

I gotta say thus far, the G90's powertrain is awesome.
Its not faster than the F90 M5 CP LCI, but its so quick to pick up due to the electric torque. The numbers once both are in full chap climb the same way. Unlike the AMG E Performance where there are holes in acceleration, some weird behaviour, the G90's powertrain is a masterpiece, so quiet, smooth, they integrated both engines beautifully, the tranny too. Transmission is quick, intuitive, smooth, the Mercedes E Performance cars have had updates and improved massively since I last drove, but there is more delay, tranny is also harsher than the G90 I am just disappointed with the weight and handling. It does not feel like an M5 (I get its cold, tyres arent ideal, but still I have driven the S63 E Performance on this trip too, and it has more grip and handling (WTF)). It feels to me like an in between the F90 and M760Li. The car also feels the weight in sharper potholes and cobbled streets. I feel it will eat bushings, tyres and brakes at a crazy pace. Nonetheless in Comfort mode its crazy supple and comfortable (more than the S63 as well (WTF once again)). BMW made probably the most comfortable M5 thus far. Dont get me wrong by the way, it does handle well, it does grip too, much more than it should given its weight. Its just that as a F90 M5 CP LCI owner, I was expecting more. It has 85% of the grip and handling of the M5 CP, which makes me sad, because if this powertrain was in an M5, 300-400kg lighter, this car would have been simply a masterpiece Nonetheless thus far I am impressed. Just can not compare it to the F90 M5, if you do and treat it and drive it the same way, you will be in for instant disappointment If you see it as a less hard core M5, more comfortable, refined and "modern" car you will like it. Just can not fathom why they cheaped out on leather, comfort access, and other stuff, given they oriented the car for comfort. Last edited by CarlosM4; 12-16-2024 at 08:58 PM.. |

Someone mentioned here that it’s “performance” leather. Just like furniture these days. I’ve seen some performance area rugs. Waiting to buy performance toilet paper…
Those fu****g marketers and those responsible for product placement are phenomenal 🤣🤣🤣 Can’t believe people fall for their BS. Last edited by Rafichicago; 12-16-2024 at 09:13 PM.. |

I do 100% agree with this. Removed fender vents front seat has less adjustability interior materials are subpar to previous gen no soft close ( I really don’t care about that one they could save it for that 7 series monstrosity) bowers is not diamond series plastics like in X3 the list goes on. BMW will have a laugh if they come up with CS iteration of this car. I already see it. We have saved 63.8755737kg with this new car 🤣

They will have full leather, soft close doors, and Label Red trim. All G90 M5’s are Comp’s. No more base model. If you haven’t noticed - they “deleted” all base models from 5-Series and up M-Lineup. All X5/6M’s are comps after LCI and so as M8 |

Hey imagine that, OP bought a G90 and thinks its the best thing ever. "Newer is better". "The new tech is better". I would hope he would think its better after spending six figures on it.
Not everyone enjoys this gen or appreciates its driving dynamics like you do. Many reviews state as such. Have a great day and enjoy your car. (and yes, before you say it, I could afford plenty of them)

When driving with my wife, I’m ~ 54mpg, when by myself but cruising I’m ~30mpg, and when by myself but driving…. Spiritedly…. ~13mpg (note, this last one is only recent, as I only just got above 600 miles to start revving a bit more… still no launches)
