Hey, no hard feelings! Just trying to share some real-world experience here. You’re right that activating launch control and smashing the gas sounds straightforward, but it’s not quite that simple when you’re chasing the best possible times. A little finesse can make all the difference.

The “driver mod” isn’t just about reaction times in heads-up races. It’s about understanding the car, timing the launch perfectly, managing traction, and even small things like tire pressure and surface prep. Those factors can separate a 10.9 run from a 10.6, even if the car is capable.

And since you brought it up…if it’s really just “activate launch control and smash the pedal,” how come you’re not seeing those same times or trap speeds yourself? Whoops, guess it’s not that easy after all! Maybe give it another go, dial in all the variables, and I bet you’ll close the gap.

Let’s keep it friendly, though as I’m always down to compare notes and learn more from others, too.

Same here my friend No hard feeling
I had M8 between coupe and convertible for almost 6 years and i ve done hundreds of runs to the point i reached my launch control limit on my first m8 within first 2 month after break in service lol
So I ve probably done more launches and runs then you did (maybe not)
My numbers matches the majority of the people and internet so that alone speaks volume
What i am also saying that saying you car is stock and comparing your numbers to other stock cars is also misleading given a full cat back exhaust gives you some power and can not say your car is stock
Also the tire pressure you are runing is nothing special and this is the recommended pressure from factory
Nway I am not here to argue with you but I had to respond because it did not make sense to me
Again enjoy in good health!

We’ll agree to disagree. Nothing misleading and all the facts, runs, temps, tire pressure and results are shared in my video. Please keep in mind primary & secondary cats are still in place. In addition the car ran similar times and trap speeds before the cat back with OEM Pirellis. Crazy to think it cut a better 60’ on All seasons. 😉

The point of my post is to highlight the fact the G90 took a step backwards in performance vs the F90. The G90 has a piggyback and barely breaking into the 10’s.

Bzw all seasons michellin have the best traction between all the tires that I have (i had them for a year on my m8) but I did not like the handling compared to summer or even winter performance tires from ps4 to p zeros

Right number wise the f90 is faster but real time roll racing the g90 will beat the f90 given the instant torque from Ev also up top the g90 pulls harder then the f90
The real life usage of e battery instant torque is underated and you don't appreciate that until you live with one on a daily basis
I used to have my m8 on M1 seting since I step in when I daily drove it given in comfort mode it lacked initial torque
Now with the g90 I rarely have to do so given the instant torque that is available from E batteries
Again people think I am defending my g90 but in reality I was not expecting that and I almost cancelled my order when it came out given how bad people spoke about the car and they said it is slow
After I drove one I changed my mind and I kept my order because by any means it is slower then the f90 or f92 that I had
My 0.02

Haven't they pretty much always done that since introducing the "Comp' version!,...and now the CS. Although, the CS vs maybe more powerful,...I doubt if it will weigh less the M5 and M5 Comp!

Edit: I imagine another 35-50Hp and 100-LBFt of Torque will make it feel "Lighter"!

A 10 second pass with just a piggy back! (Intake not even worth a mention)!!!!! That is insane performance!!!!
It wasn’t that long ago to do 10’s a car would have to be so insanely modified and fully built and would be have to be totally gutted and undrivable on the street!
And now it’s just a 20 minute plug in piggy back module.
MIND BLOWN!!!!!

A lot of cynicism on this thread.
And a lot of “experts” claiming facts that are way off the mark.
For a completly stock big limousine (it wasn’t that long ago where if you told someone you were “modified” because you had an intake and piggy back they would laugh at you) a sock big car to do 10’s is insane!!!!…..
INSANE!!!!!! And that’s a fact!!!
If you want to be a$$ holes for no reason, do it somewhere else.
This is a place for the BMW community.
We should stick together NOT attack each other.

Literally 1 year ago STOCK M5’s ran 10’s. I suspect that is where a lot of the cynicism is coming from.

Why do you guys care so much about dragstrip performance for the G90? This is a luxury go fast suburbs cruiser, right? Is anyone really buying this car to drag it? Would be more interesting/useful to get feedback about how it rolls on the regular streets imo.

This is EXACTLY what I've been saying!

The fact that it is more of a: Comfortable, Quiet, Handsome, Tech-Filled, Hybrid, GT Cruiser is why I want and plan to grab one. The Performance is just icing on the Cake! I just want to put my foot down and get away from these grandmas on my trips up the Tollway.

I too was wondering if it was stock! ...and kinda thought it wasn't being that #1, it's lowered. No one stops with modding their car by just lowering it.

I'm predicting the first tuned G90 will be "9.x" in the 1/4 mile!
