G90 UK Build Time

I placed an order for the saloon in early November 2024.

My dealer is saying it should be with me by March 2025, but the online BMW chat is saying it's not scheduled for production until June 2025.

One of them must be wrong, but how should I establish who‽

Can anyone else shed light on the situation using your own experience?

Cheers,
Paul

Ask them for the VIN or production number. Then you can track what stage the car is. I also placed an order in early November for the G99. Now it is in transit over the ocean, and should arrive around the end of February.

I have an update regarding the situation.

According to the dealership GM, it’s quite common for the web chat team to not have access to the full facts. The dealership has advised that, based on the current build status, they expect the vehicle to go into production imminently.

I’ll keep you posted with any further developments because others might find this reassuring!

Cheers,
Paul

That's pretty normal delays. I ordered in August and production was in December.

The dealer has an allocation - if they already have cars on order so used their allocation the build will have to wait until the dealer can order more cars.

I would ask the dealership for your production number. At least in the US you can go to “My Garage” on the BMW website and track your build along the way, but you must have either a production number or VIN to do that. A vehicle is usually not assigned a VIN until much later in the build process, so don’t be surprised if they don’t have a VIN yet.

Unfortunately in the UK there is no way to track the production using the app, the only way is using the order number via the dealer or BMW UK
