Front license plate mounting
Anyone run across any solutions for this yet?
Early innings, I know, but given the crowd I imagine there are people already thinking about ways to do this that do not involve mutilating the front bumper... |

No front plates in my state. They only give us one.

I ran a tow hook license plate mount kit on my F90 but this time around I am not even doing that. I do live in a state where front LP is required however I am not putting one on unless I get more than 1 ticket for it. If it's a guy cop, he should understand :P

5 years with a plate on both my cars in NY and not a single issue. I do have to hang a plate for when I park on the street in NYC once a month or so because the parking enforcement will ticket a parked car. Personally, tow hook mounts look way worse than just mounting the plate. Really draws your eye because it’s so out of place and ruins the look worse than a standard mount.

Mounting the front plate if you do.
When I bought my car in Germany, new M550, the dealer mounted my front plate with 3M double sided tape. The plate never failed me from October of 2017 to November of 2020. Rain, snow, 180 mph plus on the Autobahn and it never flinched. When I shipped my car to the states the plate was easy to take off and no paint damage.

I live in a state that only has rear plates, but here is one of the unique ideas that I have seen.
Someone had a 1:1 replica of their plate printed on vinyl. Then they attached it to a magnetic sheet making it like a large, flexible refrigerator magnet. Then you can mount a strip of metal on the inside of the bumper and magnetically attach the plate. There may already be something metal behind the bumper cover. Then you can easily remove it leaving no damage when it isn’t needed. |

just give me the ticket, because I am not putting a front plate on. I do have a tow hook plate mount just in case I get too many tickets for not having one in MD.
