Myth about the first maintenance at 2000km after break in

Hi to all G90/99 owners past their break in period my dealer seems to state that at the first 2000km dealer maintenance they will do an oil change and « derestrict » the engine !!! Heard numbers around 20% of the engine potential power will be released after that ! Myth or reality ???

It's restricted before run-in, read this thread from this gentleman that obviously had no inttention following pre run-in recommendation : "https://g90.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2158481"

TLDR : it cuts power and sustained load / high rev is not possible before run in service making it poorly driftable before run in service is done, not like you'd be suppose to do that during that period either.
