If you don't full PPF the car you'll need to hand wash frozen paint with specific matte PH neutral soap (Dr. Beaselys makes good stuff for frozen), can't drive it through car washes or take it to wash places in general cause of the soap they use and general lack of care taken vs what you would do at home to mitigate using contaminated sponges/towels on it.

When it's all covered in plastic PPF your options expand in terms of cleaning it but that'll cost another 8k or whatever it is to get full coverage and the self healing properties of the films doesn't last forever and in general the PPF needs to be replaced after X amount of years.

I've only put dr beaselys ceramic coat on my frozen G87 with no PPF and it's not a big deal overall vs gloss paint. Couple tiny rock chips on the front end, hand wash it every once in awhile.

Frozen paint looks amazing but would be a pain to take care of.

I have frozen dark grey ordered on my wagon, but still considering going with an individual metallic paint for ease of maintenance. I have never had a frozen paint, but I am not too concerned about maintaining it given that I only hand wash my own cars anyways. Having seen it in person, it really does look incredible on this car. My G80 is skyscraper grey, which is my favorite color car that I have ever had. I’ve even considered ordering it on the M5 touring, but feels dumb to not get something more “individual” if going that route. I saw thunder metallic on this G80 that looked like an interesting skyscraper-esque choice. After seeing that Maldives blue M3 on the home page, I’ve considered that as well, but I think dark colors look great on the G90.

There is an unclaimed Oxford Green G90 in my area.

What do you think of that combo ( I can't seem to pull the picture.). Anyone owned an Oxford Green BMW in the past? Think it would translate would well.

I think Oxford green would look great on the G90! Wish they offered a brown interior to pair it with.

Just ordered G90 with individual FROZEN Marina Bay Blue, silverstone interior. First combo of its kind as far as I know....for G90

I used to have the FROZEN Dark Silver on my F90, best colour ever TMO but unfortunately no longer available on G90....


Good choice?

I saw this combo on X5M in NYC this past week. Looked great!!

I'll probably stealth ppf my Blue Hera Mica G99 after seeing all of these. Should have similar effect. Wife approved of the idea just this morning lol.

You can't Ceramic Coat (or wax) a frozen paint (or "stealth" finish). It will ruin the finish by filling in the matte finish.

The Ceramic Coatings they sell just for frozen paints are actually thinned out so much (so as not too smooth over the rough finish) they are pretty worthless. (IMHO)

The matte finish looks nice but the inability to personally maintain a protective coating is a deal-breaker for me...

I would be curious how many people have ordered more than 1 car with a Matte finish. That would be an interesting benchmark I think...

I was thinking of purple too and the future wife gave me this advice. Purple looks really cool but greens are classier. After thinking about it, I agree. Hence me leaning towards greens now and not purple. I have a blue M550 now so I didn't want blue again. Those are my two cents. I'm sure purple will look killer.

I chickened out on Malachite as well and went with BHM/silverstone.

I believe there is a Malachite G99 landing at BMW Mountain View soon. Hopefully we will see pics.
