Hi everyone,


We’re INDIV, a carbon fiber parts manufacturer based in Korea.

We mainly focus on interior carbon parts and engine shroud covers, because honestly, exterior parts are already a very crowded market. So instead of following everyone else, we decided to work on areas that most brands overlook.


Today, we’d like to share a sample of our newest project: Carbon Steering Cover for the BMW G90 M5.

This will be the only option built on an OEM BMW core and finished in matching silver-thread carbon fiber.



We wanted to share this sample with the BIMMERPOST first.










If you own a G90 M5, you already know that BMW introduced a special interior carbon fabric for this model — a unique weave with silver reflective fibers.

At first, we planned to use standard carbon fabric, but once we noticed the difference, we couldn’t unsee it. It’s a very small detail, but for car enthusiasts, those details matter.







We contacted Toray (BMW’s carbon fabric supplier) and reached out to carbon fiber factories around the world for almost a month. The challenge wasn’t only the silver reflective thread — the weave pattern itself is different from normal carbon fiber, and we couldn’t compromise on that.


If we were going to do this, we wanted it to be perfect.






In the end, we decided to custom-produce our own carbon fabric exclusively for the G90 M5.

The minimum order quantity was huge… and honestly, we’re pretty sure we’ll never use all of this fabric in our lifetime 😂 (It’s only for the M5 handle cover and center trim.)





But as fellow BMW enthusiasts, we couldn’t ignore this detail.

I’ve owned BMWs myself, so I understand how important these “small things” are.

What we want to say is simple: this project shows how serious we are about quality and authenticity.

We put the same level of effort into the product itself, and we believe that when you receive it, you might even think it’s an OEM BMW part.

Right now, we’re waiting for the custom carbon fabric to arrive at our factory, and We expect the first batch to arrive at IND in early March.

Since you will have the rate limiting materials in stock, will you be offering other items such as side seat trim and seat back?

I like my g90 but the poor leather quality just makes stock plasric trim pieces even worse.

We can custom-make anything you want — it just won’t be cheap unfortunately 😅

I assume they are unrelated company. TheCarbonIndustry. No matching silver thread but there does appear to be a market for it.

Maybe worth pursuing since you made the effort to get the real deal.

Doing the lower front seat trim, seat backs should be your next product release. (in satin carbon please!) If the price is within reason compare to the competitors you will have a ton people interested. Yes your carbon will match perfect and command a premium but there is a point where people aren't willing to pay THAT much more for that detail.

Just like how if you order an M4 with the carbon fiber trim, you get the carbon fiber steering wheel with carbon fiber paddles to match.

Same idea here. Ideally, the same carbon fiber with silver as the trim (and ind carbon fiber with silver steering wheel), and in the same format, design, and size as the OEM paddles.
