According to sources, a pre-production RS has been lapping the 'Ring in the low 8's, and it should hit around <8:20 in the final version. The 335i laps the Ring in 8:26. There's a possible 15 second difference, which isn't "whiping the floor" with the 3.

Did you guys know that it's FWD(Front wheel drive)????
Ford were originally going with AWD but thought that the added hardware is unnecessary weight add and, FWD with a differential could handle just as well. I say BS. They just wanted to save money and keep the cost low. I don't care how good a differential is on FWD....at the end of the day, your still stuck with bad 'Understeer'. Final verdict: it will always be AWD>FWD. And here's a statement made by an engineer for Focus ST to make us believe a FWD was the better choice. Quote:
