Anyone using Laser Printer at home?

Im sick of replacing cartridges on my inkjet HP printer.
I print a lot of stuff at home, and i could've bought at least 10 cheap inkjet printers with the money I spent on all the cartridges.

Im looking at laser printer right now.
I want something small, affordable(below $250, online), and easy maintenance. Hopefully not too expensive to replace the laser cartridge(if there is one).

I would love to get Color Laser Printer, but I think that would be out of my price range.

Some help please?

I have a laserjet at home for my heavy duty printing (we have a part time home office)

Use the color inkjet for scanning/printing cheap photos/copier and laserjet for most of my printing needs.

I bought a samsung laserjet based on a Cnet recommendation 3 years ago. Check them out or pick up a cheap one at Best Buy.

I'm looking to buy a color Laser printer. I see Circuit City have a Samsung CLP-315 Color Laser printer for $200 but I wonder how good it can possibly be for such a low price. Its also rather slow at only 4ppm.

I see that most of the lower cost (sub-$1,000) Color Laser printers are 600dpi whereas B&W Laser printers are now available at 1200dpi. Does anyone of any low cost (sub-$1,000) Color Laser printers that are 1200dpi?

look at the brother HL-4040CN. it's in the $400 price point and the quality is very good for that price. it's only 600dpi, but then again you have to ask yourself if you really need 1200dpi double-digit ppm color laser printer for your home, unless you have a large family that prints a lot of color stuff all day long.

Look into Dell laster printers. Their B&W printers are affordable and do a good job. Be careful though, if the fuser goes out on those printers they are expensive to replace. With Dell's warranty they are covered so I personally think it is worth it for the warranty. We have 100+ of the 1710's at work and they work flawlessly.

I have a color laser printer that cost ~$200. There are four toner cartridges inside, each costs $89 to replace. A whole set from Amazon.com cost $168.

I used to have a B&W laser printer. It cost $400 in 1997. I never replaced the cartridge for two reasons. First, it never ran out although it was close to EOL and second, the replacement was $180. It was cheaper to throw it away and get a brand new, faster, high resolution one than replace the cartridge.

In my case its for my new small business. I want to print color brochures (tri-fold) and flyers on glossy paper stock as well as other stuff. After an afternoon of research (the cheap Color Lasers get awful reviews) I'm leaning toward the newer HP CP2025N for $450 (or DN version for $500). I also noticed in today's Sunday newspaper insert that Staples are clearing out the 3600n for $250 (half-price) but its a 3 year-old model with mixed reviews.

If your needs aren't that great you could take a look at $200 color laser printers from Samsung (CLP-315) and HP (CP1215 - $185 @ Amazon)

I have an HP LaserJet P1505...a lil over $100. Its not a bad little printer. Packaging comes with trial ink catridge so you're good to go out of the box.

How many tri-fold fliers? Might be cheaper to have a print shop do it, if it's only once or twice a year.

Outsource to keep overhead down.

I decided to buy a HP CP205dn Color LaserJet. Its a new model. Picked it up today and will play with it over the weekend and post my impressions if anyone is interested. I almost got the HP 3600n on clearance at Staples for $250 (half price) but its 2-3 years old and has some problems handling heavier & glossy paper (wife has one in her office).
