If that pic will truly be the B8 A4 and they modernize the interior a bit, that will give BMW a good run. I heard rumors of the B8 when i was shopping for my car back in Feb. Thats why i decided to lease rather than buy outright.
I have always driven Audi's and VW's. The reason I got the e90 was because I didn't like the interior of the current A4.

From what I understand, Auto Bild has always been pretty accurate about cars to come. I think I may lease an E90 for this reason. Maybe wait till the 2nd or 3rd iteration of the B8. New platforms always take a year or two to work out all the kinks. |

I know I'll get a bias reponse asking this question here, but would anyone consider trading in their E90 for an '06 S4 (not RS4)?

Audi a few years ago relaized they had become too generic VAG in their handling etc, not sporitng enough. They now aim to be quite sporty and once they get a platform that doesn't have the engine hanging forward of the front axle they will be making good progress.
A monopoly is never good and there needs to be another viable sports sedan alternative to the BMW. Plus plenty of people (me included) could do without being associated with the typical negative BMW stereotypes that have become so amplified over the years.

what I don't understand is why they re-design the A4 every 2-3 years...WTF???
I drove an '06 A4 S-line prior to buying my 330i..........pathetic motor and EXTREMELY small interior. All that for 42G's??? |

The current A4 is not really a re-design, despite the numerical chasis change to B7; it more of a refresh of the sheer metal and redesign of the mechanicals, but the chassis and suspension etc. is the same.
Now Audi no longer has to share its platforms with VW, and therefore can invest in more advanced tech-look for BMWesque aluminium components for suspension, and, as mentioned before, can have a chasis layout closer to what BMW is doing, since the same chasis no longer needs to also accomodate transverse mounted engines (Passat/Jetta) - all Audi engines (except the TT) will be longitudinal. However, Audi will never equal BMWs driving feel because that is not their niche. Audi wants to now not just hold out (without really delivering) the promise of sporty but also be more sporty, but Audi marketing is to place themselves in a niche which is more sporty than a Mercedes, but not as "extreme" as a BMW. So while they might get closer to BMW they will always stop short of where BMW is. I may see myself in an Audi SUV (but no the Q7-too big), but I doubt that Audi will get my rear end out of BMW anytime soon |
