J D Powers rankings

I am going to purchase a new vehicle in the near future and like the
BMW 3 series, however, I never see it ranked by J D Powers. Seems like Lexus and Mercedes get all the press. My question is: How reliable and trouble free is the 3 Series.

I live out in the sticks in southwest Oklahoma about 70 miles from the nearest BMW dealer.

I have had my E90 for a year and 2 months and I have had absolutly zero problems. They are very reliable and worth the money. The only thing I can give you for advide is if you are on a budget, look at japanese brand cars also. They give you more for your money but their performance is not the same. So its a toss up to what you feel is more important. IMO i would rather have the new G35 because its performance will be similar to a 330i but will cost that of a 325i, but with more features. So just shop around until you find what suits you best.
