Sorry to hear about your mom. but it could be worse. Why dont you sell her house and have her move in with you. Thats what we do in asian families. She took care of you now its your turn..

Always found it weird how in some cultures, when the parents become old and need help they get tossed in a home. In Arab culture, when the parent gets old or not even that, for no cause we encourage them to move in with us. Repaying them for what they did for you as a child. What better way for a parent to die cozy in their child's house surrounded by family and love.

Its not like I really plan on taking any action to make it go away - other than starting to drink like a fish.

On top of that the 335 had a tire failure last week and Im still waiting for tirerack to get me the set of fronts so I can get it going (hopefully Thurs).

Other than that - everythings great. I used to be able to laugh most of the stuff off but thats pretty difficult now.

Like the man says, I picked a bad MONTH/YEAR to quit sniffin airplane glue.

Its certainly going to be a memorable holiday.. :/

Dude, you need to see a clinical psychologist or a psychiatrist to help you out. Looks like your mother's illness is taking a toll on you. Does she have health insurance? You should inquire about her benefits, especially if she's over 65 with Medicare.

And dont listen to the above poster you dont need a freaking "clinical psychologist", they'll end up prescribing you a medication that you dont need.

I mean you are going through hard times right now, its natural to feel down. If you have a good group of friends and family I am sure they'l get you through it. Too bad its this time of the year though. ( I cant find the appropriate smiley?!?!)

Err.... clinical psychologists have NO prescribing rights, at least most don't. Get your facts straight first. OP is stressed out about a naturally stressful situation. He's not getting enough sleep. He's overwhelmed. He has to take care of his mother, as well as his relatively new family. He's running out of steam. It's NOT NORMAL to feel that way. Before, this turns into an MDE (major depressive episode), he should seek professional help. And no, not every mental health professional will prescribe "unnecessary medications". Seeking mental health guidance is not a sign of weakness. No one should just tough it out or hope your family will get you through it. For god sakes, his family is part of the problem......

You have no clue what the hell you are talking about. I know this is the internet and you can BS whatever you want.......

Decent intro to Buddhism, without too many 'magical thinking' aspects (reincarnation is ridiculous, IMO).

You don't want to hear this, but your mother is going to die. And so will you. And so will your kids. It's a fact of life that everyone tries to ignore.

Hopefully, your mother will die of 'old age', as brain tumors are commonly curable these days, with radiation and chemotherapy.

A clinical psychologist would be someone you can open up to. Daily mediatation practice is also recommended. _/|\_

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. It makes us all appreciate the more than decent life we have (at least we all drive BMWs). I wish your mother gets better day by day and your life turn out better everyday also. It is those times that make you stronger and gain more wisdom. Hang in there!
