Nah, the pay is still crap. I'm just one of the few Marines who had a real job and a real career before I joined. Not every Lance Criminal is a 19 year old kid fresh out of high school.

Deffo go for a smaller bike first, try something like an NC30 or if new then go for the Ducati Monster M696 and plenty fast enough for a first bike.

Beautiful bike. My first bike was too much for me, but I was young and stupid. I learned some good lessons, and was lucky not to get too badly hurt. May you have better luck but just as much fun as I did. I miss it!

For some people the the reward for serving their country is greater than any other reward, monetary or otherwise. I don't know his exact reason but that's just a guess on my part.
