What's the most reliable BMW line?

Is it the 5 series because they target the "meat" of the high-powered senior executive market? (and, as such, put much greater effort into refining it in every detail that matters)

Or is it the 3-series because they've had the greatest success with it in recent years? (that because it's highest in volume, they've had the most experience refining it)

Or can it possibly be the 1-series because they've sold so many so quickly (outside the U.S.), so they're getting not only tremendous feedback, but must answer to tremendous pressure?

And which model year was/is best, in your opinion?
