Art Arfons Dead

Art Arfons, land speed record holder and driver/pilot of the famous Green Monster(s), has passed away. According to a note sent out by 'Land Speed' Louise Ann Noeth, Art will be buried " . . . in his fire suit, with wrenches in his hands and J79 jet engine operating manual by his side. Also tucked away with him will be a jar of salt bought home – oh so many years ago."

Art was the nemisis of the popular Craig Breedlove and Breedlove's highly sponsered 'Spirit of America' land speed cars. Art was a real pioneer of jet propelled land speed cars. This is a big loss to the LSR community.
