What to buy?

I take delivery of my 135i in 30 days. I plan to buy another new Bimmer this fall ('09 model). I'm debating between the M3 and Z4M Coupe. I'd prefer the M3, but prefer to pay for the Z4M Coupe. This car will be for my driving only; therefore space isn't a factor. It may come down to the dual clutch. If the dual clutch somehow makes it into the '09 Z4M I may go that route. Decisions, decisions.

Anyone know if any changes are in store for the '09 Z4M Coupe?

Timing is everything...

Great decision to deliberate. I'd go with the M3. May guess is that 400bhp and that exhaust note would be much more satisfying that anything they may (or may not) do to the Z4 M coupe.

Thanks. I've come to the same conclusion somewhat. I checked out both today. The M3 is quite nice, especially with the upcoming dual clutch gearbox, techo pkg, etc. My discount under MSRP is about the same -- $6000. That brings the price of the Z4M the way I'd spec it at about $45K and the M3 at about $58K. Plus with the M3 resale will be far better. I heard today from my dealer that BMW plans to raise prices across the board sometime this summer. As long as I put a deposit down prior to that I can lock in the current price (which is less my military discount).

M3 are rare. At least for the first 2-3 years. After that its whole different story. Z4 M Coupe is a great car too.
