If you hit an object on the freeway at night will that be considered collision or comprehensive in the state of california? If it is considered collision will I get 1 point on my license?

no matter what state, that's comprehensive. it's only collision if another vehicle is involved.

Not true. If you hit anything stationary or anything rolling across the road it will be considered collision. The only way it would be comprehensive. is if the J=object was flying through the air at you. Just because it's filed as collision doesn't mean it will impact your driving record/insurance rates. All depends on the payout of the claim and if you would be considered at fault or not. If you don't know where this object came from best not to say it was just sitting there in the road and you came up and hit it.
