Worth going to the Spartanburg plant??

My family and I are going to South Carolina for vacation in two weeks. My question is, is the Spartanburg plant worth visiting if I'm not going to do the driving school?? What is there to do there besides that?

Not sure. But I was just in Charleston. Had the opportunity to go. Skipped it and just played golf, went to the beach and checked out some of the local brewpubs.

In my opinion, it is worth it, especially if you do the tour around the plant, its pretty amazing.

From the photos I've seen of it, yes.

I don't think the X3/X5/X6/Z plant is done yet (specifically the X3 which is being turned over from Austria), but you can see the construction of that so-to-be plant. You may want to call and see if they are doing tours on the existing part of the plant... For tour information call 1-888-TOUR-BMW (868-7269).

This is how far along they were in December 2008:

...if they aren't offering the tours due to construction you can always check out the website

There's like a mini museum, gift shop and just all sorts of fun things to look at.
