Range Rover Autobiography

My dad might be getting this car, but finding information online is tough (especially regarding options, colors, trims). Land Rover's website gives me nothing and other sites refer specifically to the UK model (which states the autobiography can come in normal V8 or supercharged, but in US I believe its just supercharged, right?)

Anyone have some info for me on this car? Price, options, etc? Can you point me in the right direction?

I'll be calling the dealer tomorrow for more info but if there's anything you guys can give me here I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

+1

And if the forum failed, it's pretty obvious to go to the official website is it not?

http://www.landroverusa.com/us/en/sh...r/overview.htm

That link gives you "price, options, etc."

Checked three forums that came up on google, none of which had much info. Land Rover's website gives me nothing on the Autobiography. It only has some promotional stuff on it, and zero info on colors, options or pricing. djM, please tell me, were you able to build an Autobiography? I could only build a supercharged or HSE, please show me how you got to the Autobiography info, thanks.

I figured "General Automotive (non-BMW) Talk" would be a good place to go, as I've been a member here for years and it's usually helpful. I come here for the discussion and because this is the forum to go to. I don't come here to get OWNED or hated on. Things change I suppose, no reason to hate so much guys.

Addressing your second paragraph first, yes, this was the forum to go to. I do also see that you've been a member much longer than I have and have substantially more posts than I do, so I'm sure you've provided a lot to discussions in the past.

Now, to address your first paragraph, I now kind of feel like an idiot. I thought you were using autobiography as some type of term to mean "more information about." I didn't know it was some type of special edition. I only figured this out after doing some quick googling. That said, the only info that has been released by Land Rover themselves about this new flagship is the base price. So until they release any more info I don't think anyone is going to be of much help. And just incase, though I highly doubt it, you haven't read the press release, here it is. This is the only info about it as of now, it seems.

"PRESS RELEASE

Range Rover Line-Up at the British International Motor Show 2008

GAYDON - July 1, 2008: A new, high-specification 'Autobiography' model is to make a global debut at the British International Motor Show on July 22nd 2008.

The Range Rover model line-up for 2009 will feature the most luxurious top of the range production Range Rover yet. Taking the name 'Autobiography', it replaces the model previously reserved for bespoke versions of the luxury 4x4.

John Edwards, Land Rover UK managing director commented: "The new Autobiography derivative and additional 2009 model year features enhance what is already, the most complete luxury 4x4. Where better to showcase this than on our home soil at the British International Motor Show."

The new flagship receives more leather upholstery than any Range Rover before. What's more, this luxurious semi-aniline leather is from the very best hides, which, after minimum processing, will age over time to give the truly unique character.

The Autobiography's facia, door casings, door bins, seats and centre console are all finished in leather, complementing the traditional interior wood. The steering wheel is leather-wrapped, the leather-topped facia has a softer, more luxurious feel, and even the floor mats are edged with leather.

The 2009 Range Rover Autobiography also offers new 20-inch diamond-turned twin-seven-spoke alloy wheels, new paint colours and an optional half wood steering wheel with matching gearshift insert.

Across the Range Rover line-up for 2009 there are new wheel styles, new exterior colours and optional wood and leather heated steering wheels. Satellite navigation and Hybrid TV will now be available as standard from HSE specification, and an exterior design pack featuring Supercharged grille, side vents, lights and stainless steel pedals will now be available on the TDV8 Autobiography which will be available from £72,995 on the road.

This is all I've been able to find too. They have them at the dealers, so you'd expect more info to be out there. The car comes in this Saturday... he bought the car without asking that much info on the option list etc. Hopefully he got what he wanted.
