Sure it was nice, but besides for pulling a lot of dick at bike night (my gf's words not mine), it was no faster the the R1 I replaced it with. The money I got selling the R got me a R1, Ohlins GP fork and rear shock, Marchenisi wheel and Akra Race pipe with PC and still put cash into my pocket. 5-10k goes a long way in modding a bike.

There's a reason why Superbike "changed" their rules once Ducati started getting their assess handed to them.

i just joined this forum because this man is a retard...

Sounds like a 999R. I have a 2006 R myself.

As for the HP2, this actually one of my favorite modern BMWs. It just has so much character unlike the run-of-the-mill looking 1000RR.

Don't let it get to you. Those who only care about the latest hp numbers and magazine stats don't seem to appreciate the appeal, mystique, beauty, and symphony of a fine Italian motorcycle. Besides, no matter what bike one owns, something lighter and faster will be introduced in the following year. When my bike is 10 years old, I bet it will still inspire the same level of personal admiration as it does now, maybe even more so. Not sure I can say the same for the latest gixxer or R-1.

FYI, you don't 'drive' a bike. You ride it.

You only get your knee down on Jap bikes when stretching, and the motor sticks out but can hit full lean without touching the ground. The motor itself is a blast to ride.

Funny how the BMW fans become BMW haters when it turns to bikes. And for whoever said European bikes are overpriced and underpowered, look at the new S1000RR, starting at 14k (less than a Ducati, only slightly more than a run-of-the-mill Jap bike) with 187hp at the wheel, more than any other bike, period. Your statement is incorrect
