Thank Christ for DSC!!!
Great story for all the BMW owners out there,
Today I was coming home from Stuttgart to Heidelberg on A6 (German Autobahn) and was nicely cruising along at a slow 110mph when this German prick in an AUDI A6 decided he wanted to #@*^ with me. He starts tailgating and flashing lights and acting a general asshole because I was in the middle lane and another car was in the fast lane and refused to yield for his dumb ass. So the AUDI changes lanes to the middle lane and wants to get pissed at me! Like this shit was MY FAULT! Well...being the Combat Veteran that I am, I think to myself "OK dumbf*^k, let's get stupid, then!" So I drop the 328i into 5th, gun it, then drop back to 6th speed until I hit 135mph and this prick is DESPERATELY trying to catch up..LOL! Well... ...all of a sudden, a semi swings into the middle lane and I swerved HARD into the fast lane and peeked into the rear view mirror to see a nice plume of blue smoke (rubber tires) screetching to slow down and not hit the Goddam truck!:rocks: Well, I am just amazed at the raw handling and stability control of this car...AWESOME! I guess AUDI boy learned a good lesson today....don't be an asshole at 135mph in anything less than a BMW BMW... ...gotta love it! |

I don't think DSC had much to do with that evasive braking prowess exercise as the ABS system. Its more like the adaptive braking feature (that makes the brakes instantly available) and the brake force distribution feature and overall great mechanical braking power. Of course the DSC held you in place.
I would check your tires to see if you might've flat spotted them. Also, I'd have been worried about being rear-ended.

No...I didn't brake at all...the AUDI slammed on HIS brakes.....it was the handling of the BMW that saved my ass today.
