No More Brochures?

Is it true that BMW will no longer be printing brochures for their models? I havent been able to access them on their website and my dealer tells me that BMW decided to stop printing them. Sorry if this has already been mentioned or discussed.

I heard about this. However i heard that BMW plans to make one big generic book that will cover all of the different BMW models.

I agree totally. Plus, there are plenty of times you cant be next to a PC and having the printed material is a big help. And those "build your own" minisites just dont do a credible job with exterior and interior colors. The online "gallery" also isnt nearly as nice as a good brochure picture.

I am truly disappointed that BMW seems to be reaching too far into the "cost-cutting" bin and not towards differentiating themselves as a more premium automaker.

People tend to research their purchases online more so they probably weren't moving many brochures. I wish they still had them, I've got brochures for every car I've owned, and a few I seriously thought about getting.

Well, I personally research on-line and then if I'm interested, my next step is the brochure. I get a far more coherent understanding of the engineering and philosophy behind the car and more detailed pictures of the exterior and interior. Once my interest is piqued, I'll head out to the dealer.

The lack of a brochure for a premium automobile makes no sense to me at all - aside from saving a few dollars. From what I'm hearing - and seeing - BMW's cost-cutting seems a bit too heavyhanded.

You can still access the brochures online as a PDF file.

I was looking the one for the 3 series and found it in the BMWNA website.

The one problem is that it did not include the M Sport Package details. I haven't been able to find details anywhere except for the limited information in the online configuration tool.

The online brochures are more often than not incomplete compared with the paper brochures.
