My M5 making new noises...ideas??
I have a 2006 M5 that has a Hamann exhaust, and lately every time I turn the car on the exhaust note has a much higher pitch to it untill about 30 seconds of driving. This happens if the car is cold or hot. I like the sound, though am not sure if this could be a potential problem? The sound is literally amplified by 50% and it never used to be this way...Any ideas? Thanks

are you kidding me?!?!
when you turn the car on, it has a higher pitch to it because the RPMs are raised to turn on the car no worries

Likely is your cats heating up. Since you said it only has started happening lately, maybe your exhaust is finally broken in.

The noise remains louder throughout all rpms, not just on start up. The exhaust has also been on the car for 20k miles and has never done this. I actually enjoy the noise, just not sure what it is.
